I have drunk from the cup

Well I have done it. After debating for a awhile now I finally got a single speed cross bike for this coming season. It was a bit of coin but I think it will work out. I rode it recently with brother Bruce at the golden gate course and was able to stay with him without any trouble so I should be able to be at least as competitive as last year. That's the theory anyways.
The specs: Waterford X33 frame true temper steel, Alpha Q fork, Chris King SS hubs and head set, Record carbon brake levers, White industries eno crank, Thomson seat post and stem. all the good stuff.

A present for me

I just love the looks of the old Raleigh/Schwinn 3speeds, been thinking about restoring and old one when this little beauty showed up at the shop. So I said to by better half wouldn't a nice single speed be great for taking the kids to the park? And so it now is in the garage with a expanding fleet of other bikes.
Took Oscar out on it tonight for his walk worked well for that.

Oh man

I still can't believe it.. some low life scum broke into my truck and took my Salsa!!!!
Ahhh that just sucks, I am still in disbelief. I guess revenge and anger come next.

1 year on

Here we are one year later. So much has changed and yet so much is still the same.
Had a great ski trip this week, lot's of snow and the kids had a great time. Trent got to play in the snow for the first time and Shelby took her first ski lesson.


Finished a pretty successful cross season, I was outa shape for most of it, but it was inspiring to race. Bruce did a few races and seems to be hooked. Maybe we can tackle another year then a trip to Master Worlds in Belgium?
Raced this year on a Salsa Chili con Crosso, a really nice ride. I'll post more about it in the future.

New Fish

After wakeboarding again on vacation I realized how much I missed surfing. I sold my tanker a while back to buy the Merlin and I have been thinking of something a little smaller. Jen gave me the go ahead so I bought a new board. It's from a company called 9fish. They build fish for bigger people like myself, a cool retro design that should work great here.

Vacation

Well back from vacation. Feels like I never left. The kids were sick the whole time so it put a little dampner on the trip, but all in all it was great to get up to Tahoe. We were lucky that the fire started after we left, the devastation up there is pretty bad from what I have seen in the media. It will be quite a change to drive back to camp next year.

Kids are getting better and life in the valley is ok. No surf so I guess I will have to ride my bike
